SDI AHASS Primary School endeavours to ensure that each child has the opportunity to realise his/her potential in a challenging and supportive environment. The High Performance Framework ensures that a range of Advanced Cognitive Performance characteristics and Values, Attitudes and Attributes are used to create tasks to extend children with richer and more challenging tasks. Children whom are identified as potentially Gifted and Talented will receive ongoing provision in-class and may also be involved in enrichment group work providing extension activities. Identification is ongoing and groups are flexible as children are selected depending on their fluency and understanding of concepts taught in class.
Additionally some students are offered the chance to attend a variety of internal and external competitions, including reading, writing, mathematics, science, computing and debating. For other subject areas, specialist teachers offer opportunities for students to showcase their natural abilities as well as offering enrichment after school activities.
