Safeguarding

Safeguarding our students is at the heart of our school and includes:

–          Ensuring children grow up with the provision of safe and effective care.

–          Preventing harm to children’s health and development.

–          Protecting children from abuse and maltreatment.

–          Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.

Child protection is a priority includes: physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, repeated maltreatment, grooming and sexual exploitation, human trafficking and exploitation by groups that teach fanaticism or hatred.

Safer recruitment:

All our staff are carefully employed with our children’s safety at heart. Our staff involved in the recruitment process have completed Safer Recruitment training and will ask specific questions related to child protection during the interview. Two references are also requested, one of these is from the last employer. At SDI AHASS Primary School, we also provide mandatory safeguarding training for all our staff including to our support staff (which might be translated to ensure full understanding). Finally, we have a whistle blowing policy which makes it mandatory to report any concern regarding a staff member to our Designated Safeguarding Team.
